I...I Can't Even Think Of A Pithy Joke About Predictability

Jason: It would help to know what Theo is trying to accomplish. Taking Brenda, blowing up the limo...it's almost like you're his target, not Brenda.
Sonny: You're right. This all started with Theo avenging his son. He's messing with me. He wants a war? I sure as hell will give him one.

I...am confused. Like, my confusion is at the same level as my marked disinterest.

1. WUT? And also, WHY?
2. Must everything on this show be about Sonny? Seriously? Couldn't this have just been a Brenda story with marginal Sonny involvement?
3. Is it too much to ask for that this war actually has, you know, consequences for Sonny? It probably is, right? But then what is the point of dealing with an evil criminal mastermind for months if he's not even savvy enough to take out Sonny?!
4. Not that I'm advocating even MORE screentime for Dante, but wouldn't this make way more sense if DANTE was Theo's other target, since he was actually involved in covering up Alexander's murder?
5. I obviously just spent more time writing this brief post than the writers have spent writing this entire storyline. The question is, how much more time? Double the time? Triple the time? Are they even writing, or just having a helper monkey or robot photocopy old scripts for them?

Whatever happened to pithy jokes about predictability? The mob man, his errand boy, and even Spinelli.

That's all I got.

You know, as much as I'm in agreement with the suckage of a GH that is mob-focused, I think it could be much, much more entertaining if Theo kept doing this Stefano Dimera schtick so Sonny and Jason were the mobsters who weren't that bad because this other guy is a total nutjob. I mean, the glory days of GH (my beloved 90s in my opinion) also sometimes had some pretty ridiculous storylines. But the problem is that Guza wants it both ways - he wants the supposed moral ambiguity of The Sopranos with never giving the characters any of the shades of gray required.

It's just infuriating that this suddenly becomes all.about.Sonny. Admittedly it was pretty much all.about.Dante before this because despite Brenda being the supposed center of this story we saw a whole lot more of Dante's POV of the whole thing while Brenda was merrily angsting over her wedding. She's been mostly a nonentity in her own story the whole time.

On another note, how fantastic is the Balkan's tiny henchman?? He wants to join the circus!

And, of course, now that we've had a week or so of the love being spread about to other cast members, we're back to All-Mob, All-the-Time GH. Oy.

This entire theo/balkan storyline has been a disaster and it's pretty unremarkable that GH follows up a fairly entertaining sonny and brenda get married week with what has been on the screen since because that is exactly what GH does best. Take anything that has to be considered a high point (at least for them) and follow it up with a heaping mound of crap. I am completely NOT feeling the search and rescue efforts for Brenda.

Did you ever see the episode of South Park where they discovered the writing staff for Family Guy was a tan of manatees? How did they write the shows:

From Wikipedia: The aquatic mammals, who live in a large tank, pick up "idea balls" from a large pile of them, each of which has a different noun, a verb or a pop-culture reference written on it, and deliver them, five at a time, to a machine that then forms a Family Guy cutaway gag based on those ideas.

Now you tell me if that doesn't sound EXACTLY how a GH episode would be written?

OMG Sonny sometimes it's just not about you!! There are people in the world who don't care what you do, what you say, who you are, and especially who you are sleeping with at the moment. It's just not important, in fact it's insanely boring and redundant. I guess I should direct this at Guza and the writers but I think the fictional character of Sonny Corinthos has a better chance of actually getting the message.

Finally there's love (and sex) mixed with the murder (let's say bye bye to Julius) and it's Nicholas and Brooke!!!! Could you name 2 characters you could care less about? Why is Brooke still in town? Why does everyone (except Elizabeth) who does something fairly reprehensible get away with it? Sam, Brooke, Lisa, Carly...

Someone tell me why we watch?

Fixed:

"From Wikipedia: The aquatic mammals, who live in a large tank, pick up "idea balls" from a large pile of them, each of which has a different noun, a verb or a pop-culture reference written on it, and deliver them, five at a time, to a machine that then forms a Family Guy cutaway gag based on those ideas.

This would make the show so much more enjoyable.

Seriously folks. Liz gets hit from Nick and Lucky both in the same episode? We know that she's just gotten rehired (or unfired, whatever) but the fans wanted her to be sympathetic character like Robin - a real tie to the show's BM history (Before Mob). Now it looks like she's getting set up again to leave after the upcoming fiaso with Jake/Jocelyn. Man. I feel bad for Rebecca Herbst.

Meanwhile grain shovel stupidity Wham's abound - Sonny, the little guy, Brenda, Liz, Nick (he really deserves one but he hasn't had much success in the past keeping zipped up I suppose so it's not like he's out of character).

I love Pocket-Sized!Henchman. He's the only good part of the Balkan s/l these days. Guza's lost what few brain cells he had left.

OK, did I miss something? But has Jason told ANYONE that Franco called him after the explosion and basically took credit for it? WHY HAS NO ONE MENTIONED IT?

LegopolisMike, YES! Total ripoff of Stefano. Man, that guy was over the top!
