Nominee for Prop of the Year
It may seem silly that a prop on a soap opera could make a grown woman so filled with glee, but....
That is amazing. Oh Yes They D.I.D. With our Lord-Buchanan girls! Y'all. I die. And for some reason yesterday's Kate/Connie scenes actually managed to mildly entertain me. Is it all because of an awesome prop? Yes, yes it very well may be all because of an aweesome prop.
Also, there's a Port Charles History Museum? Can you even imagine what's in that thing? A replica of the weather machine, perhaps? The cryogenic chamber that kept Stavros alive? Duke's wedding kilt?
What do you guys hope against hope is in that museum? Let's make a list!

Someone on another board pointed out that "Viki" and "Niki" are spelled wrong on the book.
Apparently the pictures of "Tess" and "Jess" are switched, but I can't see enough of the pictures to tell.
But I did (ha) love the reference.

That book was incredible, and SO Carlivati. I kept looking for an author name, but I don't think they showed one.
As for the museum, there definitely has to be a whole exhibit of Jason's Wardrobe. Just row after row of black T-shirts and black leather jackets.

I thought the errors on the book cover were intentional -- part of the "unauthorized" inaccuracies one can expect from such bios. Maybe, maybe not, but it ruled!
Posted by: Louise | April 05, 2012 at 08:58 AM
I agree the errors were deliberate. I just loved the expression of horror on Kate's face as she read it.

"Oh the D.I.D."? Sounds like a David Vickers-type title. OK, so does this mean that Kate is really just copying what she's reading & really isn't a true D.I.D.? Maybe she's trying to destroy Sonny following the book?
Posted by: MelP | April 05, 2012 at 09:05 AM
Oh Louise, I was so hoping you would post about the book. LOVED that wink.
But oh Kate/Connie, learn from Viki/Niki and Jess/Tess and don't try to handle this yourself. Get some real professional help before you end up married to a Ford.

I just want to know where to order the book.
And I want it get it signed.
Oh how I miss OLTL...

Author was Lina somebody, maybe Brown?? I paused it when they showed the spine. Enjoyed the nod to Viki!
Posted by: Bethie | April 05, 2012 at 10:30 AM
C, ha! So true, she must head off things like "dating Fords" at the pass. Of course Kate's already in a relationship with Sonny, who definitely gives Fords a run for their money on the lousy boyfriend/husband scale.
MelP, I wish she were just scamming Sonny but I do think she's just researching her diagnosis. Bummer.

For the Museum-the bedpost that Luke used in a sword fight in Endgame to end Stavros...

The title alone is just hilarious on so many levels! Especially since we have all been saying, 'oh no they didn't bring a multiple personality story in as soon as they came on board as writers..." The response, "Oh Yes They D.I.D." Love it!

In the museum, I would like to see all of Lucy Coe's Nurse's Ball costumes/gowns.
Posted by: Tim Jones-Yelvington | April 05, 2012 at 11:25 AM
The Museum could have a replica of Robert Scorpio's secret room, from his days in the penthouse. And perhaps an exhibit dedicated to the history of Port Charles' Chinatown district.
Posted by: Anne | April 05, 2012 at 11:26 AM
Excuse me, Anne, that is the ASIAN QUARTER, not Chinatown.
Posted by: Bourgeois Nerd | April 05, 2012 at 11:43 AM
Good point, BN. Thanks for keeping tabs on things. Oh! there could be a wing for Lucy Coe's Nurse's Ball dresses.
Posted by: Anne | April 05, 2012 at 11:49 AM
That? Great touch. A nice shout-out to the OLTL people.
In the museum? Laura's lost wedding dress. Steve Hardy's stethescope. Jessie Brewer's cardigan. A jar of PickleLila. A recording of "Lady of My Heart." One of Elizabeth's paintings of the wind.

The stripper pole from Sonny's old club?

I am loving these museum exhibits, you guys!

I myself thought it was great when I saw Kate reading the book and the look of horror on her face at all the things Connie could end up doing based on Viki/Niki and Tess/Jess. I was wondering if Bess was also mentioned in there because that would also up her horror that ANOTHER personality could come out. I'm very much enjoying Kate/Connie. I know I've seen some people talk about how they can't believe that RC/FV came over and did a DID storyline since that's what they did on OLTL, but it's like...this is GH now and GH has never really had a DID storyline that I can remember so for people like myself that didn't really watch OLTL (just glimpses here and there), it's something different for GH which I appreciate and I think that KSu really is doing a good job with this material because I do feel for Kate trying to figure out how to stop Connie so her world won't fall apart and I like Connie for being so over the top. The Jason/Kate/Connie scenes were great to me. From Jason's WTF looks to Kate trying to get him out of there just in case she changed to Connie coming out and being all "I'm top dog, you're just a lap dog". I think I appreciate the most that they had Connie go attack mode on Jason instead of trying to be sexual with Jason.
I've never seen so many people trying to convict people on such weak evidence in my life. Listening to Lulu/Dante talking about how it's got to be Delores's husband that is the attacker just had me roll my eyes at the stupidity of both of them. They are basing all of this on missing photos on a computer that everyone had access to and the fact that Delores is covering for him even though Delores isn't hiding that her and Eddie are having problems in their marriage, she's not hiding Eddie's work schedule or where he's working at, and she's wasn't being sketchy when questioning the Amazon yesterday. When they were going on about how the evidence of a visitor's pass further proved that it could be Eddie, all I kept thinking was, "would Eddie really need a visitor's pass to work at the museum at night when it's close", "if it was a small crew, wouldn't they notice when one of them went missing", and the biggest one for me "wouldn't a visitor's pass on a neck lanyard get in a construction worker's way by hanging in front of them"? But Frank Hardy is being so egged on by Nancy Drew (who I think has only done her real job twice since she's been hired) into that thought process that he's closed his mind on any other suspect even though the evidence against Eddie is very weak.
Which leads me to John who is walking around so smug because of the evidence against Sonny that is just as weak but yet he thinks that if he talks to a few people then he'll be proven right and Sonny will go to prison even though there is no hard evidence that Sonny actually did it.
I have nothing much to say about Michael except WTH. Person comes back to town and you knowingly know that they want to take down your father and prove he's guilty so you give them room and board to help them out. That just boggles my mind.
Once again, loved Heather. Poor foolish Steven going by his guilt of killing that prisoner that people can change and releasing his mother in his custody. He's going to regret, but I'm going to enjoy all that she is going to do in Port Charles as it builds up to him regretting. I so hope Heather put that loud mouth, judgemental girlfriend of his in her place.

For the Museum: the camera that Laura used when she clunked Rick's retcon girlfriend on the head.

For the museum: Frank Smith's little black book, Luke Spencer's disco era hair, and the bedazzled Campus Disco shirt he wears in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIGFwfOtmuo&feature=related

For the museum:
Josh's Teen Time jacket that Frisco had ordered for him and arrived after he died (he was wearing Frisco's jacket, I think, which is why he was killed?).

That's the reason I don't think this story is great - it's just a joke, mostly. If you're going to tell a story about a young man and his toddler being murdered, then turning it into a yukfest is an odd choice.
Posted by: Carl | April 05, 2012 at 02:03 PM
I don't see the correlation of what's happening to Kate/Connie really having anything to do with Cole/Hope. She was displaying those issues way before the Cole/Hope situation came along. I also don't see it as a yukfest considering that Kate is taking this alternative personality serious and trying to get help. The therapist that she is seeing is taking her situation seriously and trying to help. I guess I'm not seeing where they are making fun of Kate's situation that you are seeing.
Posted by: kermitklein | April 05, 2012 at 02:09 PM
I didn't see Kate displaying these issues until around the time of shooting out the tires. The Connie histrionics started then.
Everything with Connie is treated as a joke. People talk about how much fun Connie is to watch and how hilarious Jason's reaction was to Connie and how funny it is that Connie hates Sonny.
I've rarely heard anyone praise this story for dramatic reasons, and I don't think the show cares about making it dramatic.
The fact that they did that hilarious book cover for two women who were sexually abused over and over kind of tells you how Ron Carlivati deals with this topic. It's always a chuckle factory.
