And there we have it. What does everyone think? Before anyone panics with furious "so-and-so was robbed!" or "so-and-so is terrible, how dare they get a nomination?!" comments, the above is just a list of who submitted. If somebody is not on this list, it's not because someone else snubbed them. And if somebody god-awful is on this list (and you know they are!), it's not because someone else decided they were incredibly talented.
I haven't been able to dig up all the info on what scenes each actor submitted, but Michael Fairman did post some of them on his website for Supporting Actor and for Lead Actress. Fill us in if you've got the dirt on any of the other submission scenes!
In addition, OLTL has a tiny showing because apparently there were only two eligible episodes and the actors had to pay for their own submissions. Both Roger Howarth* and Kassie DePaiva submitted the series finale (well, what was the series finale!).
Also, don't forget about the Younger Actor and Actress categories. People who were clear leads on their shows (Kimberly Matula and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, I'm thinking) in 2012 who are still young enough to qualify most likely submitted themselves in that category, and since fewer submissions were made than there are slots for pre-nomination, everyone who submitted gets a pre-nom. So we'll see that list next week, presumably.
So, what does everyone think? Weigh in! (My biggest chuckle: Scott Clifton and Katherine Kelly Lang both submitted as Supporting?! Ha!) (My biggest cheer: c'mon Emmy, give a villain a chance and nominate Robin Mattson because she is freaking phenomenal!)
*Regarding Roger Howarth's submission, see the comments. There are definitely conflicting reports out there over whether he submitted for OLTL or GH, so I could be wrong!
I love your blog....just wanted to say that I thought Roger submitted July episodes from GH, and Kassie submitted the finale and a GH scene?

It was my understanding Howarth submitted the 7/23/12 GH scene when Todd found out Blair was marrying Tomas. For her lead submission, DePaiva did submit the OLTL finale. And for her supporting reel, she submitted scene where Blair told Todd about Hope and Cole's death on GH.

Hi Kim, I've heard conflicting rumors about what he used but every list I've seen has Howarth submitting for OLTL, not GH, so I just stuck with that one (just for majority's sake!). Could certainly be wrong. I guess we'll find out more pretty soon because I'm pretty confident he'll get the nomination!
DePaiva submitted in Lead for OLTL and Supporting for GH.
And thanks -- we're so glad you like the blog! Thanks for reading!

I'm selfish I guess cause I want Roger to have submitted for OLTL out of loyalty for the show that made his career.. Plus how awesome would it be both RH and KDP got rewarded for their awesome work..
I miss T&B soo much.. nothing else compares for me

waiting for wow, you know I'm right there with you!

I'm with everyone above. Howarth and DePaiva!!
Pretty sure it was posted that Roger submitted his GH scenes with Kassie, while she submitted the OLTL ending and the Cole and Hope scene with Roger from GH. However you look at it, despite spins on the net, the two of them chose the scenes that showcased their real and best work.

If that's the case, what a heartbreaker that only one person submitted for OLTL.
Just makes me happier it's coming back, then, I guess!

Yikes. At this point I think ALL actors should be considered for Emmys because there are so few soaps.

Kelly Sullivan, Ron Moss, Scott Clifton... Sad...

Peter Porte and Michael Muhney on Y&R did awesome work. Glad to see both of them submitted.
I adore Roger Howarth and all his work, but Jason Thompson deserves a win. He was phenomenal.
Go Robin Mattson!

I wish Erika Slezak had submitted for her Fraternity Row speech from the penultimate episode of One Life to Live. That is one of the best soap moments, ever, and it should be viewed by all daytime Emmy voters. I think that episode was eligible (I read somewhere that only the last 2 OLTL episdodes were).

LizM, that was a terrific episode and I really, really hope someone at OLTL submitted it for the Writing Emmy. They'd be crazy not to.

It's all about Finola Hughes for me, there is no equal.
