Oh My God, The YELLS

Everybody in Port Charles is VERY ANGRY about MANY THINGS. And I understand--I, too, am incredibly upset about many/most of the things happening on General Hospital right now. I just wish they all weren't so LOUD about it because I have actually found myself smothering the urge to shush my television, which is problematic for several reasons (the first being that it is crazy and the second being that I'd be living down to stereotypes. Dear readers, I spend my days as a librarian, which I think I may have mentioned before, but in case I didn't, it's the truth. And aside from a love of reading and a fondness/obsession with cardigans, I don't think I'm stereotypical at all. I don't believe in quiet and I don't even wear glasses, so!) and made me want to take an aspirin and put on a cold compress as soon as I finished today's episode. SO MANY YELLS.

Let's recap, shall we?

SONNY: WHY?!
MORGAN: I'm sorry.
SONNY: LIES!
MORGAN: Dad, please!
SONNY: MAX!
MORGAN: I said I was sorry!
SONNY: SHOT!
MORGAN: I messed up.
SONNY: SPIES!
MORGAN: I had do!
SONNY: BETRAYAL!
MORGAN: HE THREATENED OUR FAMILY!
SONNY: LOUD NOISES!

SAM: AN INNOCENT MAN IS IN JAIL! YOUR MORON PARTNER ARRESTED HIM.
DANTE: It looked like there was evidence. Kind of. If you glance at it.
SAM: Only a stupid idiot would think there was evidence.
DANTE: I mean, he brought the case with him from Manhattan, so I can't really step on his toes.
SAM: Stupid idiots live in Manhattan.
DANTE: Are we all just collectively forgetting that Dr. Clay had a twin who was insane?
SAM: ...your partner's a stupid idiot.
DANTE: All right then.

ANNA: You're working for Sonny?
DUKE: YES! DAMN IT! I AM WORKING FOR SONNY!
ANNA: Why?!
DUKE: HOW THE HELL ELSE CAN I GET A STORYLINE, ANNA?! DO YOU WANT ME TO BE A GLORIFIED EXTRA? DO YOU WANT ME TO BE AJ, ANNA?! SO HELP ME, I WON'T LET THAT HAPPEN, EVEN IF IT MEANS SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS ABOUT NOT BEING RESCUED BY YOU! SO HELP ME!

AVA: HOW COULD YOU FORCE MORGAN TO WORK FOR YOU BY THREATENING TO HURT HIS LOVED ONES?!?!
JULIAN: Are you asking me why I'm acting like a mobster?
AVA: I'M ASKING HOW YOU COULD DO THIS TO ME!
JULIAN: Because I'm...a mobster?
AVA: HE LOVES ME! WOULD YOU KILL ME? WHY ARE YOU SO EVIL? HOW MANY SISTERS MUST YOU KILL BEFORE YOUR THIRST FOR SISTER KILLING IS SATIATED?
JULIAN: He loves you?
AVA: HE LOVES ME SO MUCH. HE LOVES ME MORE THAN HIS FATHER. HE WILL LOVE ME FOREVER. WHEN I DIE, PROBABLY AT YOUR HANDS, HE WILL VISIT MY GRAVE AND TELLS ME HE LOVES ME.
JULIAN: You don't say.
AVA: [Receives text message. Practically dislocates her shoulder reaching for her phone.
TEXT FROM MORGAN: Ava, I'm sorry. I have to end things between us. It's over. Much love, Morgan.
JULIAN: Boom. Roasted.

Great here we go again 25 years later we get to see Duke do stupid thing after stupid thing and Anna will go down with him... Not excited about this prospect

"DUKE: HOW THE HELL ELSE CAN I GET A STORYLINE, ANNA?! DO YOU WANT ME TO BE A GLORIFIED EXTRA? DO YOU WANT ME TO BE AJ, ANNA?!"

HA, good one!

lol thirst for sister killing.

They should get rid of Duke. Let Anna have an affair with Nathan :)

One of the major issues with RC bringing dead characters back to life, is that he has no plans for them one year after the initial shock has worn off. Faison with Duke's face mask! Whoopee! Next. Duke and AJ should have started their own Internet based company that ended up rivaling ELQ and we could have had awesome scenes of Duke/Anna and AJ/Liz. Heck. AJ could have encouraged Liz to use her art talents at his and Duke's new business venture instead of Liz propping newbies or AJ drinking all over town.

LOL!!! VERY FUNNY RECAP OF THE SHOW.

And the show is about to get worse!

As some in the south would say, Ava's cheese done slid of her cracker.

Looking forward to Alexis kissing Julian's owies and making them all better tomorrow.

you had me at "Are we all just collectively forgetting that Dr. Clay had a twin who was insane?"

I actually liked the Duke/Anna scenes. It was the first time he's shown any real emotion since returning...and it sort of explains why he's being an idiot and working with Sonny. And Finola rocked, as usual.

They really should have left the character of Duke dead after the Faison storyline. I find the character useless and boring. Quite frankly any chemistry FH and IB had at one time, well I just don't see it at all anymore.

Well after this episode *I* feel like yelling, too. I'm going on kind of a long rant here. If it's too long I apologize - feel free to delete.

I started watching GH full-time in 1988 at the age of 9 (don't judge, I watched it with my nanny and she turned it off when there were more "adult" parts),so I missed most of Duke and Anna. Someone on YouTube has posted years' worth of vintage GH, so I watched DNA's entire history a few years ago. And I was . . .ENRAGED. I don't want to offend DNA fans, and I admit my RNA bias, but how could anybody support the two of them together? He clearly has no respect for her, and dragged her down over and over and over again. No matter what he pulled, Anna always stood by him. The writing was so bad. I mean, it takes some bad writing to make Anna Freaking Devane look like a stupid pod person.

It was a bad storyline over 25 years ago, and it isn't any better now. Once again, we have Duke lying to Anna, then, when he's confronted by it, blaming it on her. The exact same story as in the past! Then he blamed his illegal activities on needing to rescue Anna from Grant Putnam; now it's because of Sonny threatening her. And Anna telling Duke "this isn't you?" Girl, please! I love Anna with the heat of a thousand suns, but this is *exactly* who Duke is. I want FH to have a story, but not this one. So tired of seeing this yet again. The one good thing about it is the end Anna finally got Duke to admit he did this for him. Face it, guy just likes being shady.

Also, I know this is GH and all, but must we have it hammered into our skulls at every opportunity that law enforcement = bad? Sam storms into the PCPD yelling about incompetent Nathan; Molly and TJ somehow arrive at the conclusion that Rafe's telling the PCPD about TJ's presence at the shooting is more dangerous than his indirect connection to actual mobsters; and then we have Duke telling Anna he has to associate with mobsters against Julian because the police are powerless against him. Enough already.

On the positive side, I was genuinely amused by the Lulu-Nathan scenes. "Hey, I just met you literally five minutes ago, but let me tell you all about my most intimate marital problems!" Even Nathan basically asked her if she had anyone else to talk to about this.

And finally, I greatly enjoyed the fact that Carly's family is so concerned about her disappearance, they . . .send Lulu out to buy ribs. I mean, that sounds more like a celebration dinner to me, which I can't really argue with, but it's hilarious how they're not even pretending to be too concerned. That's because they, like the viewers, know that we'd never be lucky enough to be permanently shot of Carly.

That scene of Alexis kissing Julian gave me life!

I woke up today and thought 'when I get home, I get to watch the hotness.'

Two hours to go!

You hit the nail on the head. The reason I shut the show off for years was because as you said Law enforcement= bad and incompetent. I am now back to not watching until I read all the boards and see what happened ? Robert was on, And the previews say he will talk to Robin. Will watch that. I am on my way to just doing it. Shutting the show off. soon Anna and her six year old granddaughter will be the only ones left I like .Anna may be off the list soon ,if they don't keep playing her as a keystone cop.

Thanks for the recap....too much yelling indeed! I feel like joining them. I agree with much of what Faye said. I never really liked Anna with Duke for the same reasons. He brought her down, and was really working against what she stands for. I loved her the most with Robert, and seeing them work together again, you can feel all the same chemistry. Plus them both being with the WSB, they have that still in common. Also about the anti-police bias. Molly and TJ getting all judgmental about Rafe telling Anna he knows TJ was at the warehouse. I felt so sorry for Rafe. He thought it was the right thing to do for her. Protecting his hitman guardian and Sonny the mob boss is what they both respect. Once again the mob is eating this show, so no I am not looking forward to Alexis succumbing to Julian's charms. He's a criminal! Doesn't that matter? I dont get it. Uh Oh....I am yelling....

About Alexis and Julian -- I was definitely yelling, for joy. They are the hottest thing I have seen on this show in years. Two of the best actors on the show, by far. I want to care that Julian is a mobster, I really do, but William deVry and Nancy Lee Grahn are so scorching together I don't care, I just want more, more, more. I haven't liked Alexis with anyone this much since she was with Ned.

If I must choose between criminals, I choose Julian, but I have to say this once in a while: I absolutely HATE Sonny and his hypocrisy and self righteousness. Thanks for the vent!

OMG, you are hysterical! Mad props for the Sonny/Morgan and Anna/Duke scenes, along with "thirst for sister killing"! You rock, Mallory.

Only Morgan would send his girlfriend a break-up text and then sign it "much love."

Word to all of this, but I'm afraid I also must yell....

HOW THE HELL IS CARLY'S HAIR AND MAKEUP STILL PERFECT AFTER, WHAT...A WEEK OR MORE IN CAPTIVITY? She's got to smell gamier than anything in that damn stable. Like a real chupacabra! Way to be realistic, Ron.....
